Aimee Tink: A Journey of Resilience
“When I was 16 years old, I was at a crossroads. Growing up in Regional New South Wales, the social norm for people my age in my small community was to remain here and find a job. To live out your days in beautiful green pastures. It was very rare for someone to leave as most people love their comfort zones and the ease of the navigation within these small communities.
So, should I stay, or should I go?”
I ended up leaving my home at just 16 years old and began my journey in the business world.
This was a hard decision to make, leaving my friends and family, venturing into the unknown. After just starting to grasp the skill set and independence to financially survive, while still going to school and working two jobs, I made the decision to move to the big city. It was a frightening experience, being so young to suddenly have complete self-reliance and responsibility for your own life. In the city, I knew no one, I knew nothing about the community I was traveling to. The only thing I knew was that I was determined to make something of myself, to dream big. I needed:
- To challenge the status quo of what was expected of me.
- To grow and learn.
- To continually develop and enhance my skill set.
- To be motivated towards professional success and achievements.
When I first moved to Sydney, I was presented with a myriad of challenges adjusting to the bustling city life. Coming from a small-town community, the fast-paced urban lifestyle was foreign to me. Living independently, managing my finances, and ensuring stable accommodation were concepts unfamiliar to me. Not many people my age then would consider moving away from their family. But here I was, and I must admit there was an excitement and exhilaration looking back at this experience. It was not only a test of survival but also proved to be the most formative years of my life, shaping me into the business leader I am today. All my experiences, positive and negative, provided important life lessons and experience. I learned to embrace change, adapt to new situations, and tackle obstacles head-on without being deterred.
Having developed in business and recruitment for the past 15 years, today I am the Managing Director of Tink Recruitment, a successful recruitment firm which I own and operate. The invaluable skills I have acquired over the years, including emotional intelligence, presenting self-authenticity, strategic networking,
and building genuine partnerships of integrity and trust with my clients, have been key to my success and the personalized approach my team and I incorporate at Tink Recruitment. At Tink Recruitment, our key objective is to provide you with the most qualified and relevant candidates for different roles within your organization. We do this by incorporating cutting-edge technology in our processes, adapting to the challenges of a constantly changing, fast-paced market environment, and, most importantly, by really listening to our clients to understand their needs and provide solutions for their specific role requirements.
If there is anything you can take away from my story, my resilience and self-determination are the intangible qualities that have grown my business to a higher level of success. Partnering with us at Tink Recruitment, we aim to do the same for you.
Meet the Team
Ross Williamson
Manager
After a successful career as a high-performing real estate sales agent in Ireland’s leading estate agency, I made the leap to Australia for a new chapter in my life. My journey with Tink Recruitment was one of the most organic experiences I’ve ever had. The company’s focus on real estate recruitment immediately sparked my interest, as I saw many transferable skills and a familiar clientele from my background.
Tink’s core values resonated with me deeply, and as I saw the positive impact of my hard work, recruitment became not just a job but a passion. I truly believe that if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. The ups and downs make the wins even sweeter.
Now, as a Manager at Tink Recruitment, I’m excited to implement new processes and grow alongside my colleagues. Our team covers all of Sydney real estate recruitment across residential, commercial, and strata management. My focus is building long-lasting professional relationships and providing clients with quality candidates who become not just employees but colleagues—because life’s too short not to enjoy your workspace.
